I'm just going to vent here for a moment after losing Josh Hamilton for 6-8 weeks:

When are these idiots going to realize that sliding into first base is one of the dumbest things you can possibly do on a baseball field? It is slower than running through the bag, and can easily get you hurt.

The fact that guys keep doing this is just unbelievable to me.

End of vent. Thank you for listening.

Agree, was really disappointing to see him get hurt on such a preventable injury. His comments about the whole situation were even more absurd, specifically who knows if I would do it again? :-P

Oh well, at least he was only an 8th round pick for me this year and he went ahead with the surgery, that preliminary tweet about surgery not possibly being necessary was even more troubling. The last his owners would have liked is Hamilton trying to play through an injury that will clearly sap power, much better to just get the surgery over with.

On the plus side, at least Michael Morse was still available to grab.
