A healthy Michael Morse is a good hitter IMO. That whole Giants offense is underrated. If Morse plays all year (unlikely), he might squeeze out a top 10-15 1b value.

Problem with Morse in fantasy is that he's rarely ever going to get more than 3 ABs in a game. He's out by the 5th or 6th innings most days for a defensive replacement.

That does put a damper on things, and that needs to be factored into his value. But if he can surpass 500 plate appearances then he will have been a bargain this year.

I'd take the under on that pretty easily.

Same, I initially said him staying healthy all year is unlikely.

I am already beginning to wonder if I should jump off the train with:

Brett Lawrie

and

Asdrubel Cabrera

I think the residual hype from a few years ago pushed me into going with Lawrie and Cabrera just looks brutal so far. I am considering dropping both to grab guys like Taijuan Walker who have higher upside potential.

Too early?

If you have a suitable replacement for Cabrera then I would drop. I'm giving Lawrie more time.

I don't really get what you're saying about Verlander. He's doing fine just not getting any run support.

Cargo reality. Best player in fantasy if healthy.
Joey Bats ready to be the best slugger in the AL again.

My speculation on Verlander has nothing to do with wins. He is still a good pitcher, just not a #1 anymore for fantasy IMO.

If Cargo didn't get hurt every year he would for sure be #1. He is incredible.

It's close. I'd easily take Trout because I trust him to stay healthy. But I think Cargo would be giving Trout a run for his money if he didn't spend time on the DL every season.

My .02

I really like Trumbo this year. A move to a hitter's park is going to help. Plus, here's the thing... I am not a big fan of the NL WEST state of pitching in general. SF, usually quite solid, looks like a mess right now. Cain looks like a HR factory and Lincecum really looked awful the other day. The Dodgers have Kershaw health issues all of a sudden and I don't believe Dan Haren's studliness will last. Yeah some of his HRs are Coors aided but Coors ain't going anywhere any time soon. I think his own park + Coors will help him more than Petco/AT&T will hurt him.

I think I disagree about Freddie Freeman's RBIs too. The braves lineup is not that bad. Heyward and Upton will come around as we glimpsed at the past few days.
