Right now, imo, the ranking of possible (ie: unsigned) new international free agents in MLB for 2015 would be...

Yasmani Tomas (CUBA - OF)
Kenta Maeda (JPN - SP)
Jeong Choi (KOR - 3B)
Rusney Castillo (CUBA - OF)
Dayron Varona (CUBA - OF)

Maeda Kenta- After looking at the scant info I could find on this guy, he looks more like a Kuroda type, and not an "ace quality" SP.

That's not to say that he's not worth a grab, but what you want out of a Japanese pitcher is ace quality. The reason is ppl pass them up early and you can get an ace SP in the later rounds when there shouldn't be any. This frees you up to get another stud player everyone's competing for in the early rounds. In his 1st year Darvish went in the early to late mid rounds because of this. Though, the Darvish factor caused Tanaka to go in earlier rounds last year, making him less useful as a hidden dark horse .

Japanese hitters on the other hand, should be avoided IMHO.
I love mock drafts.

Could be a good get...

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that Korean shortstop Jung-Ho Kang will be posted in November.

This is pretty big news...

"FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that Cuban second baseman Jose Fernandez has defected and is seeking a contract in MLB."

https://www.baseballamerica.com/interna ... s-unknown/

With that, Cuba's the best players are far and away Yulieski Gourriel and Alfredo Despaignebut with all these guys cashing in it might be time for them to "go missing".
