4/5 Cheering, Venting, & Karma

Postby wrveres » Sat Apr 05, 2014 9:19 am

Karma ... Three games into the season, Braun is revealing that the five-month layoff didn’t help. While the nerve problems made it hard for Braun to grip a bat last season, it sounds another problem now is with his fielding — he has numbness in his thumb that makes it hard for him to tell how hard he’s gripping the ball when throwing it, leading to “crazy bruises and blisters.”

Rolling out Bumgarner only today ... Madison Bumgarner has found a comfort zone against the Dodgers. He's 8-3 with a 2.58 ERA against them, including 3-1, 1.93 last year.

Oakland has a secret weapon ... While they are still expected to be very good vs Right-Handed Starting Pitching (RHSP) ( losing Seth Smith is the only change), the 2014 Athletics team has been built to be the most dominate team in MLB against LHSP.

Pitchers Changing Their Approach to Domonic Brown

Did Puig really show up late for opening day? He has no respect for the game!!! :-)

Welcome back Mike. Its Offical. The Mariners got nothing for you. Hector Noesi’s been DFA’d

thats one hell of a leap. From validated starting rotation candidate, to cy young candidate. All in 5 meh innings against the twins... The Cleveland Indians have a Cy Young candidate this season, and he did not even start in the club’s first three games this season. Danny Salazar went 5 2/3 innings, struck out four, walked three, and gave up only two earned runs on seven hits in the Indians’ 7-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field on Friday. Salazar did not have the greatest of outings, but he did validate that he should be in the starting rotation

Well thats settled for the week ... Not since Abbott and Costello had there been so much confusion about the first baseman of such a comical team. But perhaps Lucas Duda began to answer one of baseball’s age-old questions Friday night. The newly anointed regular first baseman slugged a pair of two-run homers – and even the tattered bullpen couldn’t fully flush Jenrry Mejia’s strong pitching performance — as the Mets avoided an 0-4 start by holding on for a 4-3 win over the Reds at dank but joyous Citi Field.

only 3 games worth watchin ... ;-)

Strasburg against the Braves today... What do you guys think? Do the Upton brothers combine for over or under 5 strikeouts today? They had 6 yesterday against Zimmermann and 16 through 4 games! I'm saying over 5 with Strasburg on the mound. BJ is almost guaranteed to strike out at least 3 times today.

I've got Strasburg and Teheran facing each other today, with a Jose Fernandez kicker. Hoping for 3 QS, 2 W, and 0 L, if humanly possible.

Today I welcome Michael Pineda to team Izzy. Currently dominating the ERA/WHIP categories it would only make sense that a Yankee craps all over them. Fingers crossed.
