3/31 Cheering, Venting, and the real opening day!!

Postby NikkiSixx » Mon Mar 31, 2014 9:15 am

Figured someone else would make one but I'll do it because it's THE REAL OPENING DAY!! :-D It's one of my favorite days of the year and I've been counting down for a while.

Last nights game wasn't bad at all and I've got a great feeling about Cashner this year. That fastball was breaking bats left and right for right handed hitters.

If ever there was an unofficial holiday this is it. I hope all you blue collar slaves called in sick to celebrate the greatest day of the year. I know I did. ;-D

Eric Young Jr. starting at 2B and leading off for the Mets. I had heard it said that he wouldn't be playing second this year, but if he's going to get that eligibility, that significantly changes his value. Insomuch as he's starting today, that appears very likely.

Other notables from posted lineups.

Bonifacio leading off for CHC
Kolten Wong hitting 2nd for STL (best case scenario for those who took a flyer)
Daniel Nava leading off for BOS (trend in Victorino's absence?)
Mike Carp hitting 5th (will he be seeing regular ABs with Victorino shelved? good player on a per game basis)
BJ Upton hitting 2nd, Andrelton Simmons hitting 8th for ATL

Are we starting Tanner Scheppers vs PHI today?

I'm leaning yes, but wondering what the confidence level is for most.

I am streaming Scheppers in one league that I drafted Kershaw and Darvish in. If he blows up I have some aces to bring the hurt down later. In leagues my pitching is thin I'm staying away.

As a Phillies fan, yes. They're pathetic.

My Braves need a lead off hitter so they can move Heyward down in the order. Way too many righties with McCann gone.

1. Jason Heyward RF - L
2. B.J. Upton CF - R
3. Freddie Freeman 1B - L
4. Chris Johnson 3B - R
5. Justin Upton LF - R
6. Dan Uggla 2B - R
7. Evan Gattis C - R
8. Andrelton Simmons SS - R

I would rather they go with:

Simmons
Johnson
Freeman
J Upton
Heyward
Gattis
Uggla
BJ

Yea I really think that's poor use of Heyward at leadoff.
