Claim Pagan with #5 spot WHIR?

Postby Philly_05 » Thu Mar 27, 2014 4:35 pm

Someone just cut Angel Pagan in our 16 team roto league. He could give me some decent power/speed off the bench. I'm running with no backup OF's at the moment. I should be able to put Aroldis on the DL tomorrow hopefully. Opening up a spot to land Pagan on Saturday. Would you grab him or wait on using the WW position?

Yeah that would be a good solid claim I think he'll rebound nicely.

ESPN still has Arolids DTD. If they don't change him to DL today. Who would you guys cut to add Pagan?

Pagan was a top 100 player in 2012. He got injured last year. He is seriously underrated. Do it.

Howard I suppose, why no pitching depth?

Well for a couple reasons I suppose. The initial draft I did well getting Strasburg and Wainwright. But Feliz my 3rd pitcher drafted has been a bust. Now he's in the minors hopefully getting stretched out to be a starter. Bauer was a early pick and he has totally flopped. Jurrjens imploded and is gone. Carlos Martinez continues to be yanked around by the Cardinals in a setup role when he should be starting. Taillon is taking awhile getting to the majors.

Last years draft I ended up going bats and got Buxton and Correa. This year I decided I needed to get some pitching. So I got Appel and Heaney both should be up this year. Hopefully they don't flame out as bad as Bauer did. If Martinez would have been given the job he earned this year I wouldn't be that bad off. I could have gotten by with Strasburg, Wainwright, Martinez and Smyly. But yeah it will be rough. I had a offer of Rendon for Ryu prior to the draft. But everyone on the board told me to pass on it. He has since traded for Lowrie and Kendrick so I doubt he wants Rendon anymore.
