There are many good reasons why Montreal will never get another team.

Don't get me wrong, I love the city. Anyone who has never been should plan a driving trip in the Summer.

But Montreal is a HOCKEY town. Always has been and always will be.

These days the Hockey playoff schedule juts deep into the Baseball season. All eyes are focused on hockey, especially in Montreal goes deep into the playoffs.
It's cold as hell and the baseball season is getting longer and you need to have a Dome stadium, which means more money.
Average ticket prices are higher now, even when adjusting for inflation and Salaries are much higher now. You need people to come night after night, even when the new team is doing lousy and spending more than they ever had in the past.

It's not going to happen.

I had to laugh at the first post, the Blues. lol. (Blue Jays)

also just because a lot of Canadians like hockey, doesn't mean everyone does. I'm Canadian, and I HATE Hockey.

isn't the Montreal situation more like this..
look at who the owner was at the time. Jeffrey Loria, the current idiot owner of the Miami Marlins. if the fans didn't support the Expos, maybe it should be asked why. year after year after year when they had good players, they would always get traded away. at least from what I remember. can't blame fans for being upset if ownership sucks.
