Big Trade involving Kershaw, Cano, Encarnacion WHIR

Postby GoJaysGo » Fri Mar 07, 2014 5:04 pm

I am in a standard keeper league that keeps anywhere from 6-10 keepers. I have been offered:

I give:

Edwin Encarnacion, Tor 1B
Robinson Cano, Sea 2B
Madison Bumgarner, SF SP
Felix Hernandez, Sea SP
15th Round Draft Pick
Maikal Franco, Phi 3b

i get:

Yadier Molina, StL C
Receive Eric Hosmer, KC 1B
Receive Matt Kemp, LAD CF
Receive Clayton Kershaw, LAD SP
Receive 11th Round Draft Pick
Albert Almora, ChC OF

I also have the keepers

Starlin Castro, ChC SS
Starling Marte, Pit OF
Giancarlo Stanton, Mia OF
Max Scherzer, Det SP
Julio Teheran, Atl SP
Kenley Jansen, LAD RP

That's a terrible trade for you.

Side Note: I hate trades that have that many moving parts...especially in the preseason...especially when they involve top tier guys.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was worried about Encarnacion's wrist since that can zap people's power. Also Cano in a bigger diamond was worrisome also.

No offense, but this is absolutely horrendous. You're giving up 4 of the 5 best players in this deal. And for what, to upgrade Felix to Kershaw? :-t

Spoiler alert: every single HR Cano hit last year would've left the field in Safeco. Every. One. The Yankees lineup was just as bad as Seattle's this year. He'll be fine, don't worry.

Yeah, that's too much to be giving up.

It seems like EE's wrist procedure was relatively minor. Cano's career splits don't show any telltale signs that he can't hit away from Yankee Stadium. Don't think you have much to be worried about with either one.
