You're asking a lot Alex. Most auctions are long and tedious and a ton of fun but everyone unfolds a little differently.

The things that go into an auction are questions like . Is this a keeper league, what positions and players are being kept and at what prices, what will inflation be based on these factors, how much will most owners spend, what will it take for me to finish in the top three in each category.

Generally in an auction league you want to ensure a couple of things. Just in general.

1. Don't punt any category.
2. Don't overpay for anyone. If others are overbidding early then wait for the value. Winning an auction league is about getting more money out of your players than you put in.
3. Build around solid hitting but make sure you get one proven SP and one proven closer. You may have to overpay slightly for these two.
4. Make a projected budget for each player and track to see if owners are overpaying.
5. Have fun
