Quick Keeper Question

Postby Drederick13 » Sun Mar 02, 2014 5:48 pm

12 team Y! league, 5x5 scoring. You are allowed a max 3 keepers that were drafted after the 3rd round the previous year.

So far I'm keeping Goldschmidt (7th round) and Ellsbury (4th). As far as my last keeper, deciding on Adam Wainwright (5th round) or Eric Hosmer (9th).

Thoughts? Thanks!

I'd take Wainwright, although I also like Hosmer four rounds cheaper. IMO, you could probably replace some or most of Hosmer's production with the likes of Rizzo and Belt. As deep as pitching is, it's harder to replace the line an elite ace like Wainwright can post by a replacement pitcher.

You also have Goldy, and so you're more than set at 1B too.

If the keeper has the value of the round, Eric Hosmer by a longshot. Otherwise, probably still Hosmer but close.

I am commissioner of a second year league looking for teams with extra rules such as an auction and signing bonus system:

Based on the rounds, the correct call is Hosmer

Do you keep them in the round mentioned or is it a straight keep?

I'd keep Waino regardless TBH, you have a rock solid 1B already and a stone cold ace like Waino is a great piece to start your rotation with.
Goldy is King.

They are kept at the round mentioned. Another name I suppose I should mention is Mike Minor in the 16th round as well.
So - Hosmer (9th)
Wainwright (5th)
Minor (16th)
