Cafe Consensus Rankings: 29th Pick

Postby GiantsFan14 » Mon Feb 24, 2014 1:44 am

Freeman edges out Pujols. Honestly not a huge fan of Freeman here. He's not gonna sustain a .371 BABIP so we're probably looking at a .300 average with 20-25 HR and little to no speed. He should put up some solid run/RBI numbers but I think there are better options here with more upside.

Taken so far:
1. Mike Trout, OF
2. Miguel Cabrera, 3B
3. Paul Goldschmidt, 1B
4. Andrew McCutchen, OF
5. Carlos Gonzalez, OF
6. Ryan Braun, OF
7. Robinson Cano, 2B
8. Adam Jones, OF
9. Chris Davis, 1B
10. Clayton Kershaw, SP
11. Hanley Ramirez, SS
12. Edwin Encarnacion, 1B/3B
13. Prince Fielder, 1B
14. Joey Votto, 1B
15. Bryce Harper, OF
16. Troy Tulowitzki, SS
17. Adrian Beltre, 3B
18. Jacoby Ellsbury, OF
19. Evan Longoria, 3B
20. David Wright, 3B
21. Yasiel Puig, OF
22. Carlos Gomez, OF
23. Yu Darvish, SP
24. Jason Kipnis, 2B
25. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
26. Giancarlo Stanton, OF
27. Justin Upton, OF
28. Freddie Freeman, 1B

Continuing to cast my vote for Pujols! Can't believe how down on him people are this year. We're into the middle of the 3rd round in 12-team leagues here - I will draft him at that point all day long, thank you!

Pujols couldn't move last year. I'd be leary of picking him until I see sustained health this ST. Worth a shot at this point if he is healthy but I'd rather go for the sure-er thing in Rios who has power and speed and is hitting in the middle of a stacked lineup in a hitters ballpark. When I see Pujols actually running on both legs in spring training I'll move him up.

At this point I think peoples opinions are going to start varying greatly so we probably need to double the number of player options available.

I actually am steering clear of Albert Pujols this season unless it's 4th round or later. So many other guys I like with a higher chance for first round value than Pujols, the fading legend.

We could continue this as write-in only.

Did you know the write in winner for the position of mayor of Boston was David Ortiz? :-D

I'd rather not have to tally votes.

"I feel awesome," said Pujols, who had right-knee surgery after 2012 and suffered a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot last July. "To be able to do things with no pain or discomfort, to have my legs underneath me, to move around and have the load I want in my swing … that's the biggest difference."

Obviously we can't know for sure until he's playing in games, but it seems like good news to me.
