Projecting Dominic Brown

Can someone here can share their eyetest on Brown? Are we looking at a player that got red hot for a month like Justin Upton before cooling off or is this another Morneau concussion story? What kind of year are you expecting?

I think a full season in the middle of the lineup and 25-30 home runs later, he will be worth is ADP this year. I just missed picking him in both of my drafts so far. I really like his value this season. Also has potential for 20 steals. Ceiling projects to a mid 2nd rounder. Conservative projections for him I still say he's a top 100 player.

He has proven the ability to get hot (18 HR, 8 SB in May and June combined), and yes the upside is there, as Izenhart pointed out... I just see him as another Jason Heyward for fantasy. All the potential is there, but you are likely to be let down. The once top prospect has completely faded since the start of 2011 other than the 2 months where he was red hot last year. But when he isn't scorching hot, he is barely ownable. Until we start seeing some sort of consistency I am gonna let others take the gamble. I wouldn't be surprised if he hit 30 HR and stole 10 bases, but I also wouldn't rule out a Delmon Young type season/career either.

P.S. His post all-star break numbers last year are right in line with the rest of his abysmal major league career.

Thanks for the feedback. I keep hearing about how he wasn't the same player after the concussion. Looks like that is just who he is injury or not.
