Best Draft Position?

Postby lambo1203 » Wed Feb 19, 2014 9:11 pm

Is there such a thing? And if so, which positions are the best in, say, 10-, 12- and 14-team leagues?

I personally think that in a 12-team league, having the top three picks are golden, and being 10-12 is a rough spot to be in.

In 14-team leagues, just with all the mocks I've done, it seems like the middle picks are the death sentence as you're very late to jump onto the bandwagon for a run and you aren't getting any of the top players. The top few or the last two picks of a round seem to be key in this type of league.

Anyone else have any thoughts/experience with different draft positions?

I like the 4 spot this year because the worst you'll do is Cutch. 4-8 looks good but I don't really think there is a basic right answer. If there is a player you really want in the 2nd round and don't want to reach you can sort of figure where you want to be

I like 1-3, or middle rounds.

I like #2 this year. Sure thing in Trout/Mcab and a better 2nd round pick.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

the best draft position is Mike Trout. The next best is MCab. After that you want to be at the back end since nobody really sets themselves apart at #3 but things start getting thin by the time you get to #20.
