:: SCHEDULE//SCORING PERIODS ::
Each Team will play a full season based on Major League Baseball games and Statistics.
There will be a 44 Game Regular Season schedule for our league. Each game will be broken into mini-series, scored Head to Head against other Owners. The scoring periods for each series are Monday thru Thursday games, and Friday thru Sunday games. As such, some scoring periods will be uneven (depending on your rosters real life games - Team A might have 5 SP starts while Team B only has 3). This is how almost every other fantasy league works, so there should be no confusion.
A team will be awarded a Win or Loss, depending on who has the most points per scoring period.
(14) Teams will be divided into (2) Divisions. There will be (1) Winner of each Division, and (2) Wild Card Winners for each Division as well. The Division Winners will receive a First Round Bye in the playoffs. Wild Card teams in each division will play against each other, Winner advances to Division Championship to face Division Winner. The Winners of the Division Championship will play each other in the World Series. Playoff Series will be scored for the week, Monday thru Sunday.
Tie-Breakers for Playoff Berths are in the following order:
1) Head to Head record
2) Division Record
3) Total Bases by Hitters – Total Bases Allowed by Pitchers
:: FEE’s // PAY-OUTS ::
There is a $100 team fee for prizes, which will be awarded at end of season. Prizes are progressively paid out based on team success. $100 will be used to pay for website management. Any remaining money from this $100 will be kept in a reserve fund for any incidentals. At the end of the World Series, if any remains, it will be given to winner of World Series.
Division Winner $200 x 2 = $400
Wild Card Winner $50 x 4 = $200
Wild Card Game Winner $50 x 2 = $100
Division Game Winner $150 x 2 = $300
World Series Winner $300 x 1 = $300
(Maintenance Fees $100 X 1 = $100)
Total = $1,400
:: ROSTER LIMITS // LINEUPS ::
Because there is a possibility of negative points, head to head match ups are balanced regardless of how many AB’s and IP’s a team accumulates. As a result there will be no limit to how many players you can start per scoring period. However, you must have a legal roster or you will not receive any points. A legal roster is:
(1) First Base
(1) Second Base
(1) Short Stop
(1) Third Base
(5) Starting Pitchers
(2) Relief Pitchers
(7) Any position
(2) up to, based on player being on DL in MLB
(10) Any position
:: POSITION ELIGIBILITY ::
Games needed from previous season for a player to qualify at a hitting position: 15
Games needed from current season for a player to qualify at a hitting position: 15
:: SALARY CAPS – DRAFT // IN-SEASON ADD/DROPS ::
There will be no salary cap during the season. The only time a cap applies is during Free Agent Draft (each pre-season) and with your In-Season Waiver/Pick Ups Cap.
The pre-season Free Agent Draft Salary Cap is $300
(each season every one not protected by Keeper status will re-set to a $1 value). You can keep any player from your roster, for as many years as you want, applying a $5 raise each year.
The in-season Free Agent Add/Drop Salary Cap is $125
(if a player is dropped from someones roster, his free agent price will start at half of his salary from previous team - ex Player A was drafted at $14 and is dropped during season. The Waiver bids will start at $7. Every other Free Agent will start with a value of $1). In-Season Adds will follow the same Slow Auction rules used for pre-season draft. A player is nominated and when no bids have been raised for a 12 hour period the player will be awarded the team with the highest bid.
Minor League Salaries
Minor League Keepers will add $2 to their previous year salary. (Only real purpose of Minor League salary is for when they eventually become part of your regular roster - Keeper value). If a player is called up during season and you add him to active roster, the following year he will add $5 to his salary (even if he ends year in majors and following year in minors).
:: TRADES ::
Trade Deadline will follow real life MLB and is July 31, 2013. Free Agent Adds will be allowed up until the last day of the regular season. Trade market will re-open immediately following the final day of World Series. Anyone on your Roster, Minors, and Draft Picks can be traded. In-Season Trades will go against your Waiver Cap, the difference in values of traded players (ex. Team A trades Pujols and his $30 value to Team B for Tiexiera and his $20 value. Team A will have $10 added to their waiver cap, while Team B will have $10 deducted). Off-Season Trades will be based on players valuation and will factored into Draft Cap. Minor League Players traded will work with the same valuation system.
:: MINOR LEAGUE ELIGIBILITY ::
A player may be on your Minor League roster if he meets the following requirements:
Less than 130 career AB's for Hitters, less than 50 career IP's for Pitchers. As long as a player remains within these boundaries he can be kept on your Minor League roster. However, once he is added to your Major League roster he cannot be sent back down.
:: KEEPERS ::
Each year you will have to designate a total of (10) ten Keepers. They will be (3) Hitters, (3) Pitchers, and (4) Minors. Their Salary towards your draft cap will be the price you obtained them for +$5 (Minor Leaguers add $2).
:: DRAFT ORDER ::
Each season will feature (2) separate Drafts. The Minor League Draft will be based on the previous year’s final standings, in a worst to first format for each round. There will be a separate Free Agent Draft, slow auction format, for all Free Agents who have not been placed under Keeper protection. Trading of picks is encouraged. If you trade away any picks you will be required to fill your Minor league roster of (10) when draft completes (ex. you trade away your 3rd round pick - 3rd round you get skipped and when draft is over you will have to pick up minor league players to get roster legal).
** New Owners will have expansion style draft to fill (10) Keeper roster spots
