MARVIN MILLER ALL-STARS LEAGUE ( MMAS)
We took a couple year hiatus from our league and are now resurrecting it again. Starting from scratch! This league was very successful and enjoyable and follows almost every roster rule of MLB. Including waivers, Rule V draft, arbitration , drafts etc..
Dynasty Money League:
16-18 teams divided into 3 or 4 divisions.
This is salary cap league based on 110% of top payroll last season ( 228 million and change of the Yanks) so cap would be $250.00.
Weekly Head to Head league. Rosters set on Mondays before first game
21 active players, 4 reserves (1 must be Catcher) ,
40 man roster, 40 man minor league roster
We will use CBS to keep stats as well as ZetaBoards to keep track of the auctions and waivers and such in the off-season. Most in season stuff will be done via CBS waiver board.
The month of September will use the weekly Head to Head to determine a champion with likely 6 teams playing in playoffs. The remaining teams will play month of September to determine seeding for draft picks for next year ( taking in account their regular season record as well).
6 catergories we play .
2. Home runs
3. Extra Bases (Doubles plus triples plus stolen bases minus twice the caught stealings.)
4. Run Average
5. Quality starts (Starter pitches at least six innings and allows three or fewer earned runs.)
6. Bullpen: (Reliever Appearances * 0.5) + Holds + Saves - (Blown Saves * 2) - (Relief Losses * 2)
Over a course of 21 weeks between beginning of season and end of August this will give us 126 games ( 6 catergories a week x 21 weeks) . Like I said before September will be used as seeding and playoffs.
I'll teams would start from anew. We will do it in 3 phases..
Phase #1- Up to 40 round draft of players currently R level ( less then 3 years service) and Arbitration Eligible ( 3+ to a day less 6 yrs service) . Any R level players would have $0.50 salary . Any Arbitration players would have a one year salary equal to their real life major league salary divided by 1 million.
Phase #2- Auctions as per normal rules for all veteran players and any players not drafted in the R/Arb level draft.
Phase # 3- Up to 40 round draft of all minor league players, players currently that are not in MLB who have been drafted and do not meet the required IP (50) and AB (130) limit and meet these requirements:
-- Have signed a minor-league contract
-- Have spent time on a MLB minor-league roster in the last two years
-- Have been drafted by an MLB team that retains their rights
-- Are eligible for MLB's amateur draft in the current calendar year
My hope is to have ownership secured by end of January at latest and then start are R/Arb draft as soon as possible. We are filling up quickly..
