MLB is a step up from every other league on the planet so I would have had zero problem with matsui winning it -- other than the fact that it should have been webb in my opinion. I think anti yankee backlash had something to do with it.

Technically, minor leaguers play "professionally". should they be ineligible? If you are new to MLB, then you are a rookie.

webb is in the NL. they have one for each league. dontrelle willis got the NL one with stats not as good as webb.

yeah Webb definitely got robbed last year (he was better than Willis in every single cat except WIns).... its all just cos Willis was more popular :-t

the AL award could really have gone any way.... but people's opinions bout Matsui's "rookie" status probaly did have have a say in the final result.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

Berroa clearly deserved it more than Matsui.

Yes, Webb was robbed.

I think berroa could match or possibly even surpass last year's #'s, which makes him a good value player.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
