My Pedro Alvarez/Zach Wheeler for his Sale

Postby garretterik » Wed Jul 03, 2013 2:13 am

10 person standard 5x5 nonkeeper league

Question 1 Who to stash on my DL Cueto or Peavy?

Question 2 Alvarez/Wheeler for his Sale (then could pick up Aoki, Gyorko, or stream another SP like Dempster, or Cobb)

I am in first dominating league. I am pretty solid everywhere (OF and SP are big weaknesses). Recently added Pedro Alvarez and Adam Dunn during their hot streaks. Love the home runs, but worried about owning both sluggers when the avgs begin to drop again. Was thinking of trading Alvarez to the Pirates fan in my league who is loaded with SP. What do you think? Other ideas?

In a redraft mixed 10 teamer, this is a big yes. Longer term (i.e., not this year), Wheeler could break out and Sale's mechanics could be problematic. But this ain't a longer term league.

I sincerely can't see you playing Alvarez anyways, or wanting his BA if you did.

And when you add in the waiver options you mentioned, this is a slam dunk. I take Aoki until Cobb is healthy, but Dempster's cool, too.

I personally stash Cueto over Peavy. Cueto's lat has been hurt for going on 2 years now, and that's very worrisome, but still, the upside is too high to just ditch.
