This couldn't be a more 2007 post if it was singing Umbrella by Rihanna while the Virginia Tech massacre was going on.

But I digress. At any rate, I'm off to a monster lead, albeit it through just 2 days in a 2-week final, in what I hope to be my 2nd championship in 4 years in my main league. This will be my 4th consecutive year making it to the finals, despite never even being the top team in my division, so I guess I'm sort of the anti-Bwanna. This will hopefully be my 3rd championship in the 9 years the league has been going on.

It's all luck anyway.

Bwanna should play the lottery I guess then, because his record seems to speak for itself. He must be the luckiest man alive. Me as well, not that far behind. Ultimately winning the championship has a reasonably sized luck factor to it because it boils down to your performance and health in September, throwing everything done previously out the window, while Roto does not. To suggest that there isn't skill involved is just short sighted and silly, though. This is why Bwanna stated that he relishes his regular season titles. Tell that to the teams that dominate the actual MLB regular season only to be bounced in the playoffs by the hot team (cue Weir's rant here). H2H and Roto are night and day as far as strategy is concerned, but there's certainly no superiority of one over the other, and in the 15 years I've been playing the game I've actually found Roto to be much easier to be competitive in, even at the highest level of competition. There's a ton of luck associated with winning in Roto as well. Skill puts you in the position to be able to make a run in either H2H or Roto, especially on a consistent basis season to season; the luck determines whether you finish 1st or 3rd. People just seem to view the finishing places in the two games differently due to one shaking out over a defined week and the other shaking out over a more fluid week or ten days.

23-1 :~(

Lost in the championship 4-6. Would have tied and won the tiebreaker if I had started Craig Gentry. :~( :~(

I love head-to-head. :-b

That sucks.

After my run of 14 straight, I ended up 20-2 for the regular season. I then cruised 7-3 and 7-2 in the playoffs for my first pro league championship worth $120. I had three roto teams also cash in pro leagues (2 seconds, 1 tie for third) for a total of $275. :-D
