Weekly league. Wondering if Eric Young jr. is worth picking up for one week for Seth Smith.

Here is my logic:

Positives
(1) He is hitting well and batting leadoff
(2) 5 of the 7 games the Rockies play next week are at home
(3) 2 of the 7 games they play (and their only road games) use the DH
(4) Despite Cuddyer's return (see negatives), Cuddyer could move to 1b, moving Helton from the lineup
(5) 4 of 7 games are against the Houston Astros
(6) He pinch runs/pinch hits in most of the games he does not start

Negatives
(1) Charlie Blackmon seems to be playing some of the time, negating his starting opportunities
(2) Michael Cuddyer is returning this Friday, further limiting his starting opportunities

As a Rockies fan I'm not sure I do it. He's been good when he's in there but I bet you get 4 starts max out of him. Cuddyer coming back doesn't scare me as much as Pacheco hitting well. He's stealing more starts from EY than Cudy will. Blackman will be gone Friday.

Playing time is definitely going to be an issue but you can not predict that too much like you wish. I would rather have him then Seth Smith though

Well put together, thought out, analysis, and logic here. Did your homework, and presented ideas. I think if you are in a deeper league it is a better move than in a shallower league like a 10 team. I'd say ok, if you start extra positions and Utl making the league line ups deeper.

I'd take a shot, he can steal some bases and hopefully score some runs, Smith really offers very little.

I'd make the move. Re-evaluate on the weekend once Cuddyer is back.

I agree with the latter. I don't think you are losing anything, and the upside is higher for EY in my opinion. Do it.

Young has 30 SB future 2b if he had stayed there, but he's an OF so why not get him.
