Is This Trade Even REMOTELY Fair?

Postby thefrank183 » Thu May 02, 2013 11:29 pm

Carlos Gonzalez

for

Starling Marte and Shelby Miller

I'm the commish in my league, and I have to decide whether this trade should be disallowed or not. To me, it strikes me as a bit unreasonable.

Thanks for your input.

I think it's ok. CarGo is definitely a top 10 guy, so hard to imagine not getting a better haul.

I personally feel vetoes are for keeping managers honest and the league fairly run. If the guy wants those young guys with upside---there's always room for taking a chance or making a dumb trade.

Clear sell high by the Marte/Miller owner and he wins the deal, but I don't think it should be vetoed either. There is a somewhat decent chance that Miller ends up being a top pitcher by seasons end and Marte has great fantasy potential as well.

It's not a great trade for the guy giving up CarGo but it's not really close to a vetoable trade.

Marte and Miller are both good young players I think on current value you kinda have to allow it.
