Could Hafner Be This Years Blalock?

Postby rippz » Tue Apr 06, 2004 10:56 am

If I remember correctly, wasnt Hafner hyped up to be Thome Jr? A lot of people had high hopes for him but he didnt quite live up to all the tooting.....

Blalock didnt fair too well in his first year either and look at the turn around he made last year.

Im not saying that just because Hafner got 2 Homers yesterday means he will keep it up but if he wasnt injured last year he could have reached 25 Homers.

He has always been a great hitter with a good AVG.

Not a bad observation. Hafner could be a good pickup.

Does it make sense for me to add Hafner?

Who would I drop. Maybe Burnitz?

This is going to sound kinda silly.....but he's going to be a priority for me come draft day (thursday). Who knows if he'll break out this season, but I think he will. Watched every at-bat and loved what I saw, even though it was against my hometown Twins.

But the Twins won......what a game! :-°

Hafner was never hyped to be a Thome-like power threat; fine to expect a good year from him and maybe a break-out; but I wouldn't think in terms of Blalock. Upside is probably more like Sean Casey's best years.

He hit against Radke. I could hit a homer off of Radke.
