This happen to anyone?

Postby kevinkallberg » Fri Apr 05, 2013 9:35 pm

I'm in this 20 team keeper league that is going on it's 3rd season.

It's a fun and active league, but the one thing I don't like is that the commish has all the say when it comes to trades. With that said, he's not cheating or anything like that, BUT, there are some HORRIBLE trades that go through and no one has a say if a trade should or should not go though.

The last trade that just went though, there were numerous managers protesting it and it passed. And this isn't a league where vetos get thrown around easily.

I LOVE my team and that is one of the reasons I stay. I have brought this issue up to the commish a couple of times now the past couple of seasons, but he ignores it and doesn't want to hear it.

anyone else deal with something like this before?

Honestly if he has a policy of not ever vetoing trades (unless there is clear collusion), then I don't see a problem with it. I do the same in my leagues and it's how I believe every league should be. If it's that big of a deal I'd just look for a more competitive league where it's less likely to happen.

thats how our league is run as well. If you pay your team as you wish as long as you are trying to make your team better and it doesnt greatly offset the competition in the league. In baseball, stats are hard to predict and durability over 162 games is also impossible to predict. I agree. No collusion, no veto. Its just tough though when a rookie manager is getting robbed.

I run my league and I've never felt the need to interfere with a trade in nine years. I have seen some head scratchers but nothing bad enough to veto.

I don't like vetos at all. If no collusion, no veto.

I run 2 leagues, going on 5 plus years for both leagues, and I hold sole veto right in 1 league, share veto rights with another LM in the other league. I state clearly for folks to protest if they feel that if there is collusion involved, but I have yet to veto any trades in either of my leagues.

I've heard of enough leagues where other owners would veto trades based on the fact that the trade would improve their competition, & no trades would be approved. If I think two owners are colluding, I would investigate, but a rookie owner getting hosed does not warrant a veto in my book.

You learn by getting hosed, & I shouldn't have to police inexperience.
