A bunch of retreads that could be valuable trade chips if they happen to fix whatever flaw they had but are easy to let go of if they stink and are all cheap. No reason to waste service time of young guys and no reason to sign guys that have absolutely no upside like say Polanco. The Marlins are the team doing it completely wrong, the Astros are fielding a very smart team.

The Marlins appear to have no idea what they are doing based on their last two offseasons. At least the Astros have FINALLY committed to rebuilding.

I was actually high on Morse this year but apparently not high enough since I didn't get him in a single league. I think he'll hit 30 this year.

If you are rebuilding, go big or go home. Why tie money up in overpriced middling free agents? Sign a few free agents and field a team of a cheap AAAA players. Then, draft right, trade for prospects, and wait for your team to develop. It worked for Washington and Tampa.

To be fair it took the Rays 10 years to rebuild and it took the Nationals getting lucky to find 2 mega super star 1st round picks to rebuild but yeah in general wasting service time on young guys or spending money on guys you know will stink is completely the wrong way to rebuild. The Pirates have kind of been that team for a long time as well, way too much money tied up in cruddy guys like when they signed Mesa to be the closer instead of just filtering young guys through to make them trade targets etc.

Single, Walk, Deep fly ball, Walk+passed ball...

For being a stud team this Dodgers lineup is awful btw.

May point on the tanking, (I do not really think the Astros are tanking, though I would not be shocked), is that while you are developing the youngsters, delaying service time, and avoiding long term contracts, you are also improving your draft position.

Alfredo Aceves gives up a three run bomb to Vernon Wells of all people and creates a save situation for Hanrahan. :-b
