Roy Halladay's Doppelgänger

Postby AussieDodger » Mon Mar 11, 2013 6:03 am

Who is Halladay's doppelgänger?

Wolverine? Justin Beiber? The 1992 Denver Broncos?

Douglas Wildes Fister esq.

Fister in 2012: 7.63 K/9, 2.78 XBH/9, 2.06 BB/9
Halladay in 2012: 7.60 K/9, 2.76 XBH/9, 2.07 BB/9

Fister has gained 2 K/9 since joining Detroit, obviously the coaching staff and/or A.Avila have helped him make some improvements.

I'm all over him at pick 135. Join me :-D

He started to strike out guys more and more when he started using his slider and curve constantly. This is also a recipe for an injury so I don't care for his long term prospects. I like him fine for this year but I don't expect big steps up in skills from here on out.

As for the comparison, those are decent but the two pitchers are nothing alike either. Fister relies heavily on off speed stuff while Halladay actually throws 92 and relies heavily on a cutter.
