Eric Munson to Bat Ninth

Postby d18Mike » Mon Apr 05, 2004 10:41 am

This from the Detroit Free Press today:

Trammell said he'll bat rightfielder Bobby Higginson eighth and slugging third baseman Eric Munson ninth. Higginson hit mainly third last season.

I find this interesting. Munson has 30-HR potential. This can't help his RBI totals.

Helms in MIL is also batting low -- 7th or 8th -- same HR potential there.

Interesting. I guess Trammel saw something no one else did. I can see this having a minimal negative effect on Pena and Munsun.

I doubt he'll be there for long, he should hit 25-30 jacks this year and will move up to 6th or 7th.
