As far as I can see the only backups to Mastro are Boggs or Benson. Benson played awful last year and so far this spring. Boggs isn't very good either.

The Twins also are one injury away from having an OF spot opening up. This list of players that could get injured allowing Parmelee to get out of the OF include Mauer (Doumit to C), Morneau, Doumit and Willingham (LF). None of these players are Mr. Durability. I'm hoping that Arcia is the guy called up in that scenario but Mastro/Benson could also get some starts out there.

Over his last 6 games played, Hicks has reacquainted himself with the strikeout. 8 k against 2 bb and 2 hits, bringing his spring average down from .406 to .319. He's still the favorite, but I don't think this competition is quite over.
