Davis has great power but carries great risk and terrible BA. Hosmer was at his worst last year and wasn't too terrible. I think for the future both have great risk and great potential reward. In the end I think you have to go with Hosmer, the speed/power combo is too tempting and I simply don't trust Davis at all.
Thanks for the help. I'd go with Davis. As a Mets fan, I can tell you that he was hobbled at the beginning of the year by Rocky Mountain Fever, or something, an illness I've never heard of, but he had nothing coming out of ST. He's the real deal. Hosmer, I think, will be too, but he wasn't hurt last year, as far as I know, and sucked the whole time.
Thank you to soty for hooking me up with another awesome sig!
A bit surprised with the Ike support. I thought it was an easy call for Hosmer. I believe he just fell in the sophomore slump and will rebound very nicely this yr. I have him ranked #8 and Ike #20. And yes I would pass on Minor, even though I am a fan for this yr. Try and get him last in the draft.
Hosmer has more value and is your keeper. See if you can package J-Zimm and Davis for a 2b keeper like a Zobrist or Philips then with the free spot you'd have MInor who is a great young arm to keep as your #4 SP and that's not too bad.
I'm saying Hosmer as well. I think he comes back more motivated . I think the Royals as a team will be a much improved team . The FO went out and got Shields a motivating factor for all of the Royals hitters. I like Davis but Hosmer is my guy this year.
