Eye on the future... trading for Profar?

Postby acw9293 » Sun Mar 03, 2013 5:13 pm

So my keeper league (8-team) team is terrible...
Molina
Rizzo, Encarnacion, Teixeira
Phillips, Walker
Andrus, Rollins
Machado, Moustakas
Gonzalez, Jackson, Rios, Marte, Bourjos, Soriano, Morrison

Parker, Latos, Chapman, Moore, Garza, Bauer, Cole, Jackson, Romero, Wheeler, Odorizzi
Frieri, Janssen

Another guy in my league has
Rosario
Goldschmidt, Olt
Kinsler, Rutledge, Ackley
Profar
Beltre, Cabrera
Hamilton, Cabrera, Reddick, Jennings, Brown, Gomez

Lee, Hamels, Scherzer, Johnson, Darvish, Masterson, Samardzija, Garcia, Volquez, Hultzen
Nathan, Street, Rodney, Axford, Rondon

Since I have no shot this year, I want to build for the future, specifically with Profar.
Any ideas how to work on that?

Won't fly… traded before the draft to get Andrus from him.

I would try to swing some sort of SS and 3B deal if I were you. You're pretty weak at 3B in respect to your other positions.

The other manager could really use a SS and has some excess talent at 3B. I would try to acquire Profar and Beltre for Andrus/Rollins, Machado/Moustakas + a throw in (Teixiera). If you push the other manager's concerns enough (lack of a competitive SS, depth at 3B, aging Beltre) you might be able to pull this off.

Your team isn't in as bad of shape as you think it is. You have some solid options and breakout candidates at most positions. You just really need some proven productivity at 3B.

What do you think about this? He has Hamilton on the block.
I get: Profar, Hamilton, Rondon
I give: Rollins, Teixeira, Rios, Romero

I forgot to mention we have an innings limit, so losing a SP isn't that big of a deal.

I'd ask for Beltre in place of Hamilton.

If you really like Profar then this isn't a terrible deal. Romero and Rios are replaceable in your league. Teixeira will be shortly and you have better 1B options already.
