This Boggs implosion is getting pretty epic. I hate closers.

Same team of mine has him and Cishek (and not a closer, but Dickey...my pitching has juts plummeted in a few days). I seriously want to drop them both right now for...ANYONE else. Frustrating.

I have Boggs in all three of my teams. Who is next in line?

Rosenthal, the guy who actually blew the save, is next in line. Boggs didn't have it, and the IBBs certainly didn't help his overall line. Neither did Alphabet allowing all three inherited runners to score.

So any chance Axford rights the ship and gets the closer gig back? He did last year

That seems to be the plan.

"I told (Axford) I want him to be our closer, and how we think is the best way to get him back in that role, which is pretty much what we did with him last year (in the middle of the season)," said Roenicke.

"We'll put him back in wherever it's going to be, sixth (inning), seventh, maybe eighth, and let him get his stuff back. Once he gets his stuff back, we'll put him back in that role again."

The one hit was off the 3B glove too. Though it took him like 800 pitches to get the save and the final out would have been a HR earlier in the game, the wind shifted in the park which saved him.

Would you rather have Boggs or Henderson the rest of the way?

Both Holland and Herrera pitched two days in a row and the manager said he wasn't going to use either of them tonight.

Ranking the interims/next in lines:
Fujikawa
Benoit
Boggs
Henderson
Herrera
Rosenthal
Crow

Reasoning being that I see Fujikawa having the best shot at taking the job and running with it. The Cubs have a lot of incentive to getting Marmol some saves before the trade deadline but he is just that bad. Benoit only has to deal with Valverde coming up from the minors. If he establishes himself in the role he should be good. Leyland has already said he wants him there. Boggs has Rosenthal breathing down his neck and Motte may be back eventually. Henderson/Boggs are really close in my mind but if I had to pick one I'd roll with Boggs. Honestly it's hard to believe they're not owned in 100% of leagues right now so I can't see anyone having to make that choice. The Brewers want Axford closing games, but it all depends on whether he gets his stuff/velocity back and RRR is going to let him work the 6th and 7th innings for a little while to get there in non-pressure situations. If he gets it back then Henderson is just a 1-2 week stopgap.

Holland's velocity is fine and he is just pressing right now. I don't see Herrera as a lock for anything as the Royals have tons of options in the pen.
