Willin Rosario Manny Machado Eric Hosmer Wil Myers Jurickson Profar
I've read a few places that Profar is the best prospect in the minors and that he might spend the first part of the season in the minors (or all season). I'm not worried about him playing AAA ball as I'm looking for long term value. I am concerned with how much of his value is based on his defense as that doesn't help me very much in fantasy baseball.
Machado did some things last year and I like that the 3rd base job is essentially his going into the season. That said, if Profar or any of these other guys have a lot more upside, I'd prefer to go with someone else.
Willin Rosario hit a lot of homers for a catcher and it would be nice to not have to draft one on draft day... I also like that he plays in Coors field. BUT, is he worth taking over for one of these other prospects that have higher ceilings.
Wil Myers led the minors in HR's last year and was the prize piece in the deal that sent him to Tampa Bay from KC Royals. The guy can flat out hit the ball but did strike out quite a bit in the minors and how much of a learning curve will he need at the professional level.
And finally, Eric Hosmer. The guy pretty much suckled last year... at least in terms of what people thought he would do after a breakout campaign in 2011. He's still very young and might have felt the pressure a little bit last year. No reason he can't bounce back and be the guy everyone thought he'd be. But you can't ignore that he never came around last season either.
Thoughts? Which two should I keep? WHIR!!??!! Thanks!!
Since you only keep 6, i'm keeping the 2 who help me win now. Machado and Rosario. I think Profar has the best career, although Machado could. But unless Texas makes a trade, Profar could be in AAA all year. I wouldn't want to waste only 2 bench spots on that. I like Hosmer, but his stock has dropped. He might be the easiest to get in draft. Myers is compared to Jay Bruce, a 30 hr hitter, with lots of K's. Career wise i rank them Profar/Machado/Myers/Hosmer/Rosario But if it's my team, i keep Rosario/Machado.

Id go Machado/Myers as myers will start in the minors he is probally the best offensive prospect the power potential is crazy and he can be this years Harper and machado will be a top tier 3B soon enough(my opinion)
