Time to drop Garza?

Postby ron paul for pres » Mon Aug 06, 2012 8:38 am

12 team, H2H, 5x5, non-keeper

I'm in first place and that's not likely to change before the playoffs. So this decision is all about September.

McCarthy is about to come off the DL. For the moment, I should be able to slot Garza in that spot. But at some point, I'm going to have to drop a SP.

C - Santana
1B - Morse
2B - Kinsler
3B - Miggy
SS - Rutledge
OF - Hamilton, Bruce, Beltran
DH - Butler
BN - A Jackson, Asdrubal, Middlebrooks

SP - Strasburg, Greinke, Cueto, Darvish, Lynn, Dempster, Moore, Garza, Billingsley, Straily
RP - Clippard, Putz, Storen
DL - McCarthy

Triceps injuries usually aren't that bad and generally don't linger. If this is about playoffs, I would personally drag my feet as long as possible. There likely isn't going to be a better starter available on the wire. If Garza is healthy for your playoffs (you could be without Strasburg) then he's one of your better options.
