Yahoo 12-team H2H Standard 5x5 Scoring

C - Alex Avila
1B - Miguel Cabrera
2B - Robinson Cano
3B - Aramis Ramirez
SS - Jimmy Rollins
OF - Andrew McCutchen, Michael Brantley, Michael Bourn
UTIL - Mike Trout, Lorenzo Cain
BN - Krispie Young

SP - Madison Bumgarner, Adam Wainwright
RP - Jose Valverde, Addison Reed
P - Alfredo Aceves
P - Ryan Cook
P - Jake Peavy
P - Gio Gonzalez
BN - Jeff Samardzija, Bud Norris, Colby Lewis, Roy Oswalt
DL - Brandon Morrow

First order of business is catcher. Should I stick with Avila, pick up Grandal or Lucroy (rumored to possibly return next Thursday), or trade for an upgrade?

Second, who to start in my third OF and UTIL Spot? Currently I'm rocking a Brantley/Cain combo, but I'm just not sure how consistent these guys will be down the stretch. Alternatives are to pick up Fowler, Colvin, or Soriano off waivers, or attempt to trade for an upgrade.

Thanks for any help!

Dump Avila for either of those two other guys. His departure won't hurt your team one way or another. I would definitely drop either Cain or Brantley for Fowler. You've already got a good amount of speed, so hanging onto those two guys isn't critical. Go with a guy who looks to be blowing up.

Well I am not sure I will answer this the way you want but when I have spots to fill like this I go with the hot player. Then when he starts to cool off, I drop him for the next hot player. It usually works out well enough and I don't try to find one guy who will produce all year because you aren't likely to find that guy. So with Brantley or Cain, play them while they are hot and then kick them to the curb when they cool down. I would probably think about grabbing Fowler as he has been a solid player most of the year. Same goes with catcher. Avila hasn't been all that great while Lucroy was pretty good when he was healthy so I would probably give him a go but if after a few weeks, he isn't heating up then find someone better.
