I don't expect the Rockies to compete. They could certainly move Betancourt at the deadline. He was heavily rumored to be traded this past summer.

I've got no reason to think he won't succeed but I also expected Melancon to be much better than he was last year, moving from the NL to the AL.

Hanrahan's velocity dipped slightly last season and he completely lost the strike zone. That said, he still has the stuff to get the job done. He's not someone that I am specifically targeting though unless he falls considerably ... which I don't see happening since he is in Boston. Someone will reach.

Probably whoever is healthier to start the season.

Internally, I get the feeling that they are pulling for Santos.

Looks like Kenley Jansen is healthy and good to go. Per Rotoworld:

"Kenley Jansen (heart) has been off blood thinners since November and has begun his throwing program.

Jansen underwent a heart ablation in October and has been told by doctors that he should have no further issues. "I'm doing well," Jansen said. "This is going to take care of it, no more problems. Put it in God's hands now." The right-hander has thrown one bullpen session already and will be ready to roll at the start of spring training. He's expected to set up for Brandon League this season."

He will likely be a popular sleeper saves candidate again with Brandon League starting the season as the closer. Although I would not be surprised to see Jansen have an ADP higher than League, similar to last year when Jansen was getting drafted ahead of Guerra pre-season.

I like League a little better this year than I liked Guerra last year. Jansen is still much better but League has a good track record whereas Guerra was just bad. Still, if he blows a few saves in a row then his leash will be cut quicker than the average closer.

One of the numbers crunchers at Patton&Co suggests that League's ERA should be increasing, based on his 2012 peripherals.
