critical votto/verlander deal. win now mode. input??

Postby gopirates! » Thu Jul 12, 2012 8:48 pm

Hey all

I just got offered a trade that I, for some reason, am finding very intriguing. The deal is as follows:

I get: Hosmer/Verlander
I give: Joey Votto

Maybe it's my soft spot toward starting pitching, but I am not throwing this deal in the trash, like I usually do with deals for Joey Votto. I am in a 12-team keeper league. Can keep 1 player I drafted between rds 1-12 (was thinking votto or cutch), 1 btwn 13-24 (moustakas) and 1 FA (Bauer). I am currently in third place and I am in WIN NOW mode. Not playing for the future. Win now. So given my team below, should I pull the trigger? Help a brotha out and I'll be sure to check out your thread. Thanks guys ;-D

C - Jarrod Saltalamacchia
1B - Joey Votto
2B - Dan Uggla
3B - Ryan Zimmerman
SS - Hanley Ramirez
OF - Andrew McCutchen
OF - Justin Upton
OF - Jason Heyward
Util - Mike Moustakas
SP - CJ Wilson
SP - Adam Wainwright
SP - Ryan Dempster
SP - Trevor Bauer
SP - Dan Haren
SP - Mat Latos
SP - AJ Burnett
SP - Doug Fister
SP - Jeff Karstens

Sems fair enough, Hosmer could be in for a much better 2nd half
When asking for roster advice in these pages, remember there are thousands of different sets of league rules & many different active roster settings. If you want the best replies, be sure to include your leagues particulars in the original post
