Moves at the break? WHIR

Postby JJGBPD » Tue Jul 10, 2012 6:00 am

Hey! I'm looking to see if any Cafe pro's have advice on some moves I can make at the break to finish strong in 2nd half. I had been in first most the season, but I'm 1 game in 2nd place overall now (78-44-8) in a 10 team 5x5 head to head keep 5 league. I'm 28-27-5 in my last 6 weeks so not doing so hot.

1B - Joey Votto
2B - Ian Kinsler
3B - Miguel Cabrera
SS - Mike Aviles
OF - Ryan Braun
OF - Carlos Beltran
OF - Melky Cabrera
UT - Mark Teixeira
UT - Michael Cuddyer

BN - Will Middlebrooks
BN - Salvador Perez
DL - Troy Tulowitzki

SP - Justin Verlander
SP - Clayton Kershaw
SP - Zack Greinke
SP - Gio Gonzalez
SP - CJ Wilson
SP - Jeff Samardzija
SP - Ricky Romero
SP - Jose Quintana
DL - Dan Haren
RP - Fernando Rodney
RP - Joel Hanrahan
RP - Addison Reed

I'm thinking of playing Perez at catcher of CSantana because he has killed me. Is it worth making a SP move for anyone like Gavin Floyd, Neftali Feliz, Phil Hughes, Justin Masterson, Trevor Cahill and Bud Norris. Ricky Romero has been absolutely awful.

Also, I don't like Aviles at SS full time, but only other options are Alexei Ramirez, JJ Hardy and Rafael Furcal. Thanks!

Thats an amazing record actually for a 5 x 5.

Your power numbers look ridiculous, but obviously it should be since it is only a 10 team league. Seems to me like you are weakest at SB. I would target Mike Trout, he has been phenomenal in that department.

I am not really sure what else you can do here. You can definitely upgrade your RPs.

Wow your top 5 SP are sick. They alone should keep you close to the top.

Don't give up on Romero, he should bounce back. I also see better 2nd halves in store for Tex and Kinsler. Leave Santana at C for another week or two and see what happens. They are easing Perez back slowly he's only playing 4 or 5 times per week right now. I'd also look at picking up Alexei Ramirez (he's been hot) and inserting him for Aviles. Masterson is also intriguing, check his stats the past month. He's worthy of a pitching slot over Quintana imho.
