Utley comes back tomorrow Just dropped Wainright and picked up Utley as a free agent. He hit a dinger in his rehab game today.

I think(hope) he will give the Phillies some Juice. The current clubhouse is leaderless.

Anybody else picking up Utley?

2nd base is a week position. Unless you own a Kinsler, Kipnis, or Cano I think you are going to try and get Utley. IF he stays healthy he will produce. (But that is a big IF).

I got Cano as well but I figure if Utley plays well I might be able to make some kind of trade. As a free agent the only thing I gave up was Wainwright who is not setting world on fire anyway. Worth a shot.

I think he will produce and Howard is expected back soon which will help utley.

Was at the phillies game last night and talking to Greg Lusinski he has a restaruant at the stadium and will talk to anybody. He seemed optimistic on utley. Assume he is still close to the situation

I think it is a no-brainer to grab Utley, a proven star at a shallow position.

I get that he has been injured. I get that he is old. I get that his performance has been in decline even before the injury.

All that being said, he is still a solid bat who has spent the last nine months waiting to get back on the field and hit. Give him a few weeks and if he fails, drop him for someone else. But if he is available as a FA, grab him and take a gamble. I like your odds.
