Jimenez or Parker?

Postby OuTrAgE » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:17 pm

Currently have Jimenez, but he's just been sitting on my bench as I'm too afraid to start him. However, given my solid pitching depth, I have no problems benching him every week in hopes he can turn it around. His solid start last night was a good start. The Indians are playing well, and the opportunity for wins are there (he already has 6). He averaged around a 8.6 K/9 the last two years, but down to 5.3 this year.

Jarrod Parker is available, but not sure if I should make the swap. I already have McCarthy, and not sure if I want two SP from the same last place team. Add in King Felix, and that's three SP who play the high powered Rangers often.

Do I consider dropping McCarthy for Parker? Or maybe just stand pat?

I'd go with the youngster with upside in Parker over the overrated player to bounce back in Ubaldo...Just do not see him turning it around and McCarthy has been solid and def. more so than Ubaldo.

good luck

I don't trust Ubaldo so I would probably take Parker but realize that Parker is going to be in similar situation. He had a great start against Texas but he is going to have some bumps in the road as well. McCarthy has more value than either of these guys.

Yeah, Parker is a prospect with solid upside. He's been good all year and could pop at any time. What you don't need is that dummy Jimenez on your roster. Dump him for Parker... ;-D
