Three offers on the table WHIR

Postby baegames » Fri May 25, 2012 6:48 am

I am off to work, so I will reply to anyone who helps this evening. I have three offers on the table, and I am wondering if (a) I take anyone of them or (b) I make a counteroffer to the two best offers to see what I can get. Due to position flexibility, I am making the trade to get Coco Crisp into my lineup and replace someone like Scott Diamond. No, I do not believe Coco Crisp is equal to Miggy Cabrera (or even E5), but is the drop off worth the pitching upgrade? It is an AL Only, so pitching is a bit more valuable.

(1) I give: Edwin Encarnacion and Fernando Rodney; I get: Dan Haren
(2) I give: Miguel Cabrera; I get: Felix Hernandez
(3) I give: Miguel Cabrera; I get: CC Sabathia

E5+Rodney is a nice combo of two early season stars, while Haren is a 1st half slouch, save for last night's big game. I like the deal if you can get some kind of hitter in return, I guess Crisp would do. The other 2 deals are lousy, don't even consider them. You may be able to grab a better arm than Haren for E5/Rodney, but Haren is good enough if you need the pitching.

Only deal I like is the Haren one. I assume you have something to replace Rodney?

I am leading in saves, so...I guess that replaces Rodney.

Deal 1 I'd make as it's a nice buy low sell high scenario. No way on dealing MCab for a SP who's not named Kershaw or Verlander.

The Haren deal is the only one i'd pull, especially after his 14 performance last night. I feel like Encarcion is due for some regression real soon.

I only like the first one....... But what happens if Haren gets traded to the NL if the Angels are out of it?

Help with mine? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=447737

Pretty sure Haren is usually a first half pitcher, and aside from the last start (against Seattle!) he hasn't been that great. I would pass on all three of these and look for a better deal.

The only one I might do is the first one. I wouldn't touch either of the miggy ones

Easy pass on the last two. First one I'd also pass on..
