Jansen may be the smarter long term drop, but its gonna take FOREVER for Ventura to commit to one closer, no matter how well Reed pitches. You'll never know if he'll be used as a closer or a setup. Jansen will be getting saves for at least another couple weeks, and Reed could still be on the wire when Sergio goes on a rehab stint. Swap them then.
I think Janssen is actually the best option out of those three to KEEP. He'll be closing games for at least another 3 weeks, and there's no guarantee the spot will be given RIGHT back to Santos...he'll have to prove he's healthy...he'll probably do some 8th inning at first, probably giving Janssen another week in addition. So, we're talking a month of Janssen saves...and I'd rather have one month of Janssen over one month of either of the other two. With these lower-level options, you need to go with the CURRENT sure thing, because closers have been changing so rapidly.
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)
