I think the situation here was that since Jerome Williams is such a young pitcher and doesn't have all that much experience, his spring struggles were more magnified than they needed to be.
A lot of solid major league starters have rough springs, but no one really worries about it because they already have a solid reputation. So, i'm glad he's not being sent down because i think, after what he did last year, he deserves a shot to prove that he's just working things out and he'll be fine when the real season starts.
so, i credit the Giants for realizing this and going forward... I definitely think sending him down would've been a mistake. I'm glad they're treating him w/ the respect that a veteran would get because he is that good.
