Team and league below. Two trades offered to me after I put Peavy on the block (I'd LOVE to cash in on his hot start while I can).
Trade 1
I give: Jake Peavy
I get: Jason Werth, Kendrys Morales, Javy Guerra
NOTE: Would have to drop two guys, and not sure I have two worth dropping right now

Trade 2
I give: Jake Peavy, Nelson Cruz
I get: Tim Lincecum

Worried I'm giving up too much in Trade 2, but I also think that in Trade 1 I'm getting a bunch of garbage that would force me to drop guys for players I don't really want. I'm thinking no to both, thoughts?

I like trade 1 a lot, if only because Peavy is having a great start and *could* be back to form ... or it could be a hot month. You've got the pitching depth, so taking a chance on a few bats would be worthwhile. Not too many people to drop, but an argument could be made to dump two of Pomeranz, Worley, and Parker. They're young, but they probably won't make or break your staff. If you wish to get a pitcher back at some point, you could trade an extra catcher (if Montero has eligibility) or a closer.

#2 I don't like.

#1 is close; it depends if you think Guerra will be the closer for most of the rest of the year. If so, it's a good deal. If not, it's a bad deal. I believe Jansen will take the job sooner or later, so no.

Help with mine:
