drop trout?

i have mike trout stashed on my bench but need to get an OF with gardner hurt, should i drop trout or will he give a good boost for me when he comes up?

Yep. In a relatively shallow redraft there's no reason to roster him. Who knows when he'll be up; no matter how good he is there's just not a clear shot to PT. He'll be a stud, but most likely not this year.

Agreed. No reason to kill a bench spot on a guy that might won't help you for a while.
