Blockbuster deal. WHIR Need help quick please guys!!

Postby bpizle » Tue Apr 17, 2012 6:51 pm

Right now i am 2-0... Off to a good start, scoring well, guy needs a 1B... Offers me a deal that points wise is in my favor. But am hesitant to do it because it leaves him with Bautista, Kershaw, and Fielder in his lineup. Which is brutal. Take a look.. My: Fielder, Teixera, Colby Lewis for HIS:Billy Butler, Ryan Zimmerman, Hanrahan, and Dan Haren... The pros and cons are few and far between, points wise its in my favor, and I am getting the best player in the deal in Haren because its a pitcher point heavy league.. Point system and roster below. Please help!!!! ;-D

You're giving up an integral piece of your offense and not getting much offense back. You already have Halladay and Hudson...I'm not so sure it's worth it to add Haren to that stable for Fielder.

Thanks for the words of caution on mine!

So I'll return the favor. Your league is definitely pitcher heavy. But you are turning an opponent's weakness into a big plus by giving him not one, but two, big firstbasemen. I see you lost Wilson. I think I would start there. Find a cheapest closer. And then if you want to turn Tex into a starter later, go on ahead.

Yeah, it sure seems like you're giving up too much offense and not getting enough pitching in return. I know the system favors pitchers, but, I'm still not sure if I like it for you. Try and get a bigger stud than Haren if you're giving up Fielder.

Thanks for the help on mine! I'm going to have to agree with everyone else. While your league is pitching heavy, I don't think it is worth it to give so much offense for a top SP. When did pitchers get drafted in this league?

What I would do is try to move some of your bench bats for mid-level SP prospects. If I were you, I'd stack my bench with pitchers, not hitters.

Giving up too much IMO for Haren. Fielder and Tex are way too good to give for simply one great arm. Search around maybe someone else in the league has an arm that they'd deal for a Fielder or Tex since you'd be set at first either way.

How about fielder and mccutchen for Kershaw and hanrahan? Any thoughts? He's got Kershaw, and haren and shields. Only 3 people I want from his team.
