Looking for Some Advice!! Making Moves??

Postby etl1692 » Tue Apr 03, 2012 4:27 pm

Pretty happy with the results of my team. Drafted pretty well out of the 6th spot, and picked up all the necessary positions afterwards to fill in the holes. Not too happy with Carpenter on the DL, but hey he could come back strong when it matters! Anyways I tend to love to trade in fantasy baseball. The season has not even started yet, and I'm already looking to make moves, which may not be a good thing :-D! But I dont care. No idea who to trade or who to look for, so I guess I am asking for weaknesses that you may see on my team, or improvements that can be made. I think my pitching and batting is pretty evenly matched, so it may be hard to trade, and I may not, but I want to hear your guys suggestions! Cheers!

Batting:
C: J.P. Arencibia
1B: Joey Votto
2B: Rickie Weeks
3B: Alex Rodriguez
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera
OF: Matt Kemp ; B.J. Upton ; Brett Gardner
Util: Delmon Young
Util: Mark Trumbo (1B,OF)
BN: Mike Aviles (3B,2B,SS)
BN: Danny Espinosa (2B)

Pitching:
SP: Tim Lincecum ; SP: C.C. Sabathia ; RP: Brian Wilson ; RP: Kyle Farnsworth ; P: Josh Beckett ; P: Max Scherzer ; P: Shaun Marcum ; P: Edwin Jackson ;BN: John Danks ; BN Matt Capps ; DL: Chris Carpenter

League: 12 teams, H2H, Points System
Batting: R=1 H=1 2B=2 3B=3 HR=4 RBI=2 SB=2 CS=-1 BB=1 IBB=1 HBP=1 K=-1 GIDP=-1 TB=1
Pitching: IP=1 W=10 L=-5 CG=10 SHO=10 SV=5 ER=-1 BB=-1 HBP=-1 K=-1 WP=-1 BLK=-1 Pick=2 NH=20 PG=25

I wouldn't necessarily look too hard to trade right now. Your team is anchored pretty well with Votto, Kemp, & Asdrub. However, I'm worried about some of your other players (Arencibia, A-Rod, Weeks) dragging down your BA stat column. An upgrade at 3B wouldn't hurt.

You might be able to move a closer for a solid middle/late round 3B option. After all, closers are easy to come by to an extent.

I like keeping Carp around in your DL slot. There's not a whole lot of injury risk on your roster, outside of maybe A-Rod, and a healthy Carp will only make your rotation stronger.

I like what your thinking. I will probably stay put for now, but always contemplating the next move. A-rod is getting old but he should be solid still, but as stated probably will not play as many games due to age. Any 3B in mind over A-rod? I could maybe package A-rod and Capps, or even Farnsworth if necessary......

3B???

Thanks guys!

I could see your struggling a bit in with your SP. If lincecum struggles as he has before in the last 2 years (a high ERA for him 2 years ago and only 13 W last year) and Sabathia probably going to be around a 3.1 ERA you probably won't be in contention in the W/ERA/WHIP columns.

Also thats freaking sweet when kemp goes 6th overall.

Eventually, I would upgrade @ catcher and OF (B.J. Upton). If they start off hot, then use them as bait to grab a tier 1 or 2 catcher.

Also, look if Devin M. of the Reds is available. He could be a nice sleeper option, IMO.

It's too good for you, I don't think he would take it, but it may be worth a shot offering.
