Evaluate trade: Votto / Fielder / Wright / Bautist involved

Postby jayhawkcsg » Sat Mar 17, 2012 3:05 pm

Howdy, all. Keeper league trade offer I hope you can help me evaluate. Plus we have a 15-man minor league roster for keepers/callups.

I'm offered this trade:

Votto / Bautista / Ricky Romero / Scott Downs (plus minor league roster guys: Julio Teheran / Mike Montgomery)

for

Fielder / David Wright / Cespedes / Street (plus minor league roster guys: Reimold / Casey Crosby)

I questions a few things: Is Fielder going to go downhill soon with his weight? Is Wright every going to be close to the player he was?

Thanks for your thoughts!

The Votto side wins easily.

(That said, I have no real knowledge of the minor league players)

I think the Votto/Fielder are basically a wash, depending upon your format. Bautista is by far superior to Wright. Cespedes is still a question mark and obviously, Street over Downs (depending upon if holds are worth anything). Lastly, I like your current minor leaguers.
So with all that, I wouldn't do it.

I think the Votto / Fielder side is close.

What about Wright and Bautista? My instinct is to trade Wright (health concern now), but Bautista is a stud but older. Hmmm.

;-D Quite easily and that includes minor league players. Teheran is the best minor league player of the bunch and the Votto side has the most talent.
