Postby HairyHelmet » Wed Mar 07, 2012 8:21 pm

Re: My first year Dynasty League roster (20 Team)?

Postby reiser » Thu Mar 08, 2012 9:54 am are my first impressions. If Morales doesn't come back, your hitting is bad. Your built around Cruz and Davis. Watch the Davis situation carefully. I think LaHair washes out, quickly. Mayberry is a place holder at best. I do actually still think there is hope for Young, but if Rios gets off to a hot start, I'd be looking to move him. Reynolds is what he is, and while his contribution in an OPS league is useful, if you could make a move for an Arenado or a Moustakas, Ithink that's a more long-term bet.

Your pitching on the other hand is very balanced. Any team centered around Strasburg should have lots of good years in front of them. I have my doubts about Kuroda and Gonzalez, but a relief corps built featuring Hernandez and Clippard is very competitive. I think Dempster is a bad-luck victim in Chicago, his underlying stats are pretty nice.

That said, your farm system lacks an elite #1. Yeah, Bundy, maybe. What's the Orioles track record with young pitchers though? Plus, that's 2 AL East pitchers, and a Coors pitcher.

Your hitting farm system seems to have a nice mix of impact and depth, but Catricala is not expected to stick at 3rd, and there are no SS prospects. Most teams give their prospects every chance possible to stick at SS, and then move them to 2B or 3B, and while Walker/Peralta is certainly serviceable, you need to be thinking about the future there too.
