ENTRY FEE: $50
TEAM NAMES: We will be using the team names & logos of MLB. Each MLB team name may only be used once.
DIVISIONS: There will be two divisions. Divisions will be deternined randomy in 2012 and will remain the same
AUCTION: Player disbursement through an online auction to be held on the CBS site in their Auction Room. Start date to be announced later. Each team will have a salary cap of $260 in which to fill a 30 man roster. All 30 roster spots must be filled during the auction. Any player in the CBS data base may be bid on. You may only bid on players that you have both the available cap space and roster space. All bids must be in whole dollars. In regards to available cap space, if you have 2 open roster spots and $6 of cap space unused you may only bid a maximum of $5. In regards to an open roster spot, if you do not have an available roster spot, either in your starting lineup or as a reserve you may not bid on a player.
KEEPER LEAGUE: All players on a teams roster are eligible to be kept from one season to the next. A players current salary is determined by his auction price or free agent value. If a team chooses to retain a player from one season to the next the players new salary will be a $3 increase over his auction price or previous years salary. There is no limit to the number of players that can be kept.
FRANCHISE TAG: Each team will be allocated three franchise tag options. The franchise option allows you to keep three players from one season to another with no salary increase. Each player may only be tagged one time, no matter whether by the same team or a different team, without going back into the auction pool.
Example. Player X is purchased in the acution for $30 in 2012. In 2013 Player X will have a salary of $33. If a franchise tag is used on Player X, his salary will remain at $30 in 2013. This is the only time Player X can be tagged until he is dropped back into the auction pool.
Franchise tag options can be traded so that some teams may have fewer options to use and some teams more. There is no limit to the number of franchise tags a team can accumulate and use. To trade a franchise tag the team must have its entry fee paid for the season in which it is trading away a franchise tag.
SALARY CAP: The salary cap is in effect from March 1st through the end of the season. All players, including minor leaguers & players on the DL, will have a salary that counts against the cap.
FAAB BIDDING: The FAAB bidding system runs every night for free agents. For players dropped by another team the FAAB bidding process will run for three days. If no team bids on a dropped player he becomes a free agent and is available on a nightly basis through the FAAB bidding system. Each team has a FAAB budget of $52 to claim free agents througout the season. The minimum bid is $1. Bids are in whole dollars.
FREE AGENT CONTRACTS: If a team picks up a player through the FAAB system his salary will be $1 for the remainder of the season. If a team wants to keep the player for the following season his salary will be $10. Free agent re-signs may not be franchised in their $10 season. A franchise tag may be used on them anytime after they have completed their season of playing with a $10 contract.
INJURED LIST: Each team will be allowed a maximum of 5 players on the injured list. To be eligible for the injury list the player must be on the disabled list of a MLB team. When a player is taken off the disabled list of his MLB team he must be activated or dropped by his fantasy team. Teams are allowed to pick up players on the disabled list of a MLB team and put them on their injured list. Salaries for players on the disabled list count towards a teams salary cap.
MINOR LEAGUE SYSTEM: Each team will have a five player minor league system.

TRADES: Trades will be voted on by a 5 owner trade commitee. I want 5 owners to volunteer to be the Trade Committee. Their responsibiility will be to evaluate and determine if they believe a trade to be a case of collusion or anything odd that should be of concern to the league. If the trade involves the team of any member of the Trade Committee they will not be involved in the decision and, if needed, I will act as the tie-breaker vote.
PLAYOFFS: Top three teams from both the divisions will make the playoffs. Both division winners will have a bye in the first round of the playoffs. The Wild Card round will consist of the #2 & #3 teams in each division playing each other during week 23 of the baseball season with the winner advancing. The Divisional Championship round will consist of the winners of the Wild Card round playing the divisional winner during week 24 of the baseball season with the winner advancing. The Championship will pit the division winners against each other in a two week contest during week 25 and 26 of the baseball season. From the conclusion of the season until February 22nd teams may exceed the cap. By February 22nd all teams must submit their keeper decisions for the following season. Each team must decide which players they are retaining, which players they are going to use their franchise tag options on and which players they are dropping. From February 22nd until opening day if a team is not within their salary cap they will have their ability to make trades suspended until they are within their cap.
