Pick swap, help needed ASAP!

Postby oldmanbean » Sun Feb 12, 2012 9:28 pm

Starting a new thread, other one got crowded.

Deal with pick #10 is off.

Now, I was going to offer #12 my Hudson for his Greinke. Have a feeling he would not take it, but it is the only trade that would help my team.

here are the other possible ($ wise) offers that I can make:

Pence for Brandon Phillips ($14 each) or David Price ($15, doubtful)

Hudson for Corey hart ($11 each)

Hudson ($11) and Swisher ($8) for Reyes ($20)

Keepers highlighted below. I have 11 for $129, with $130 the limit so I only have $1 of space

Thanks!!

12 team points keeper league.
15 hitters, 10 pitchers.
1 point per TB, bb = 1, r = 1, rbi = 2, sb = 2, cs = -1
IP = 1, K = 1, W = 10, QS = 5, S = 5, BS = -5,L=-5,ER=-2,BB=-1
We start 1 at each position plus an EH. 6 pitchers, weekly lineups

C N Hundley 9, Y Molina 4 ;-D
1B M Cabrera 28 ;-D , A Huff 14
2B K Johnson 11, T Nishioka 7
3B C Johnson 6, R Zimmerman 12 ;-D
SS E Andrus 9, R Theriot 4
OF J Bautista 11 ;-D , J Francoeur 9, H Pence 14 ;-D , N Swisher 8 ;-D
DH V Guerrero 17
P J Axford 9, B Beachy 6 ;-D , H Bell 8, Z Britton 9, J Hellickson 9, D Hudson 11 ;-D , C Lee 19 ;-D , B Morrow 7, A Wainwright 6 ;-D , J Zimmermann 10 ;-D

Thanks for your help on mine.

I don't think this is what you are asking for, but I would definitely keep Andrus at $9 over Swisher at $8. You can replace Swisher's production in the OF a lot easier than you can replace Andrus at the very thin SS position. Plus, you aren't keeping a lot of speed, so Andrus is a better fit for your statistical needs. This would take you to the $130 max.

Also, I'm not sure about this, but I might keep Axford over J. Zimmerman. I like Zimmerman's long-term potential more, so maybe Zimm is the right pick, but for 2012, I think Axford has more value (and this is from someone who never pays for saves). Depending on how long you can keep them (or your inflation rules), Zimmerman might be the right choice...just something to think about.

I would do Hudson for Greinke, as well as Hudson + Swisher for Reyes.

I think the other potential moves don't help you any and you should stand pat if one of the 2 above aren't good enough.

Wrote an answer in your other thread but can't find it now.

I think getting Price is the only deal I would consider.

You need pitching and moving Hudson for Hart would give you less SP with a jam in the OF/DH.

And I wouldn't go for Reyes, since Andrus could be kept instead. Andrus will have similar stats in most categories but at a much more reasonable price.

A few people have said that about Andrus ...

As for Axford,he fit in as my #7 scoring pitcher last year and that is where he is projected this year. We do not have to have RPs, since we work on total points and not categories.

We can keep players as long as we want, salary goes up $2 each year.

thanks... I just realized that if I don't keep Molina, and only have 10 keepers, my cap is gone. Strange rule, but any amount of keepers besides 10 has a limit. So, I could drop Molina and get Reyes for perhaps only Hudson or Pence ....

I know Andrus is close, but if Reyes can stay healthy all year he should produce 100 more points than Andrus...

I think I would keep Andrus as well. Whether it is Swisher or Molina, it doesn't matter but he is a better deal then either of them.

As for the trades. I don't see any I like. The Price one is good but I just don't see it happening.

Oh, I would like that trade very much, but you said yourself that you doubt he would accept.

Gotcha!

Might offer Pence for Reyes, since I don't think he can keep him anyway .... yes?
