Favorite spot to draft from this year?

Postby wingman3110 » Sun Feb 12, 2012 4:08 pm

I know its early but still interested in what some of the Cafe members feel is their ideal spot to draft from.

For me in a 12 teamer I am really liking the 7-11 range. I've been fortunate enough in some mocks to get Longo/Fielder and if I could do that come draft day I would be ecstatic.

I'm really eyeing that 5 spot. You're assured one of MCab/Pujols/Kemp/Tulo/Bautista and then have a pretty good shot at the Kinsler-Reyes-Hanley-Hamilton group.

For a 12 team league: 5-9
For a 14 team league: 7-10

I'm pick 15 in this 16 team league I'm in and it is just a terrible slot. I usually like to be in the first 5 or so though I don't really think the talent thins out mid 1st round like others do but I'm not nearly as high on Tulo or MCab as most.

#5-8 I think. I want that 2nd rd pick earlier and I'll be happy to settle for Cano/Votto...

I have got the 6th spot in a 12 teamer.
The thing that kind of makes it hard is that you could really take anyone after those top 5 and justify it. I am however leading to a CI, either Longo, Votto, or AGonz.
But on the way back you have a good shot at a quality MI so I think its a fairly decent spot.

This is actually one year where I wouldn't mind 1st or 2nd pick.

Who would you go with in the 1 or 2 spot.

I am assuming MCab or Albert, but let me know what you think.

I like Kemp #1 and Pujols #2. I'm in the minority I know but I think Fielder going to the Tigers has lowered Cabrera's value. There is no way he is going to be able to stay at 3B and I think his injury risk by trying to play 3B goes through the roof. If he ends up as a full time DH that usually isn't good for a hitters stats.

I had the 12th pick in the 1st Cafe Mock. I didn't really care for it. I felt like there were 11 guys that were slam dunk 1st rounders and then a bunch of really good players after that.

...Which is why I prefer auctions! ;-D
