Top 100 SP Rankings

Postby rotoquest » Sat Feb 11, 2012 12:15 pm

I have generated a ranking of SP for 2012 that I would like to share with cafe members. I have used only trusted projections and rankings to compile the list. Obviously, as spring training moves along, there will need to be adustments made. I hope it helps those as a starting board who have not yet had time to make their own lists. Please comment on any suggestions, or if a player has been left off or if you think the list looks pretty good.

Tim Hudson at #35 seems high to me without the back injury. With it I would be thinking closer to 50+

I didn't put any notes on these, but yeah I already had that thought of moving him down. Thanks.

Thanks for the list. What is the consensus on Wainwrigt this year. Target him? Stay away?

I'm targeting both Wainwright and Johnson. I also appear to be much higher than others on several of the RP turned SP this season (Bard, Sale, Luebke, Feliz).

Luebke is getting some hype, so don't expect to land him cheap. The other 3 I think you can get at a very reasonable price. I'm considering grabbing all 3 on the cheap and hoping at least 1 of them pans out. I rank them Sale/Feliz/Bard fwiw.

Zimmermann is undervalued... he'll be golden this year with a healthy increase in innings.

McCarthy and Niese seem undervalued also.

I see a lot of potential flops in the Top 40 including Holland, A Sanchez, Scherzer, Hudson, Carp, and Garza.

That is all just my unusual hunches... all in all, a very good list!
When it comes to exaggerating, I always give 110%.

I'm staying away from wainwright and johnson this year. There are too many other healthy options around where they are being drafted to rely on the if chance that they come back as quasi-aces. I do like some of the relievers turning SP, and if they fall far enough in the draft, I would take a chance on them.

31st Michael Pineda

this guy has a chance to win 20 games on the yankees this year, no joke.

one of my best fantasy pitchers last year and he played on the mariners...
I made a free 9 x 9, 20 team roto auction league for all the hardcore fantasy players out there:
